The hustle and bustle of the holiday season is in full force this week as we count down the few days remaining until Christmas. But amidst the hustle and bustle, we are slowing down this week to support families across Forsyth County and beyond with the 7th Annual Christmas Food Market on December 23 at 4pm.

Providing holiday meals to families across the region

This year, we plan on serving more than 250 families or 1,200 people who stop by the market. Our goal is to help provide every family in our area with a warm, healthy holiday meal — everything needed for that meal will be offered, including meat, oil, canned goods, fresh vegetables, fruit baskets, dairy products, baking items and other staples.

We’re able to provide these holiday essentials thanks to the generous donations of St. Vincent de Paul, Food For Thought, and especially our incredible donors (like you!). Including a group of local residents in Vickery Lake and a range of donors across the region, we purchased all the fresh food provided was purchased through your donations.

Adding some extra warmth to the holidays

Going beyond a holiday meal, we are also happy to provide 225 children up to age 12 with stockings to take home. Filled with a range of gifts and goodies, each child can also choose from a hat, mittens, scarf or socks to take home. Plus to add a little fun, each family can spin the “holiday wheel” to win a household item or Christmas decoration to take home.

Families who’d like to attend the Christmas Food Market can register ahead of time by calling [PHONE], or you can register at the market on Wednesday.

Special thanks to The Boy Scouts, who will be volunteering their time Wednesday evening to distribute clothing, and to all of the generous donors and volunteers who come together and make this event happen each year.
