Dr. Doug Wolf

The 2014 TCS New York City Marathon took place on Sunday, November 2nd with over 50,000 race participants in Central Park. Among the finishers was Doug Wolf, a local Atlanta area doctor that the Ella Marie Foundation has supported for the past 3 years. Dr. Wolf races annually to raise funds for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation (CCFA) and Team Challenge. This was his first year participating in a full marathon since 2004 and he set the bar high for his fundraising efforts. The 26.2 miles that comprised the NYC Marathon meant much more to Dr. Wolf than just a race. Every mile represented a goal of $1,000 to support the many services provided by CCFA, with the ultimate individual goal of exceeding $26,000 for this great foundation.

Throughout the years, the CCFA has allowed Dr. Wolf to better care for the many needs of his patients and provides services including funding innovative research in IBD, patient and family support and education, and improving the quality of patient care through educational programs for physicians and other health care providers. This year alone, Dr. Wolf and his team managed to raise nearly $60,000 to directly benefit the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation! The Ella Marie Foundation is honored to support Dr. Wolf and this great cause.
